Shop Your Closet: Wardrobe Basics Cluster

Hey lovelies I'm back with another edition of Shop Your Closet.  

These are just  just a few basic items I have pulled from my closet in an attempt to create a cluster.  (Ria Don't kill me, I tried. lol) 

Even though they are basics, they mix and match really well to create various outfits.

 If you have similar items in your closet, perhaps you could give making a cluster a shot.

From left to right Jeans - Zara, Shirt- GAP, Sweater - H & M, Bag - Dune, Trench - GAP ( I also have this in NAVY, Blazer - Zara - I also have this in Black, Shirt - T. M Lewin, Dress - Dorothy Perkins ( I also have this in Green), Green shoes - Office, Black Patent flats - Miss KG, Monochrome Flats - Miss KG.

Even though these are basics, don not count them out. 

The foundation of any great wardrobe starts with the basics. 

Basics are great for complimenting those jewel toned/ embellished pieces you are pulling out to attend the Christmas parties.

From year to year, season to season the shapes might change. 

But the basic element of the garment is the same.  

A plain black flat is a plain black flat and a crisp white shirt is a crisp white shirt.

Style File - H&M Cotton Shorts

Another shorts post, I did tell you guys that I love shorts.  While I was telling all my friends about the very, very, very affordable Zara Twill shorts. One of my girls put me onto this chic number from H&M, 97% cotton and again attractively priced at £7.99. This pair is more suitable for dressing up, could be paired with a blouse or with a white vest and blazer. At the moment I can easily Think of 4 pairs of black shorts in my wardrobe so these ones are safe from my clutches.

Little Black Dress ft Navy cardigan & Black pump

Another LBD and cardigan combo for Spring, remember no back of the closet for the little black dress.  A good combo for work, and windy days or afternoons. Get out and enjoy the  sun.

What to Wear to Work - Thursday

         Thursday the eve of the weekend, whew where has the time gone? Work has been great this week, I have been learning a lot updating systems/databases, working with Excel spreadsheets, boring stuff but very necessary when in business.

        Today I am wearing a white shirt with red pinstripes and a black skirt with a scalloped pleating detail. I have had this skirt for over a year and never worn it. However today with some tights and my black leather court shoes (newbies from Dune, review coming soon) I put together the perfect look.  Cannot wait for tomorrow jeans and flat shoes --- yeahhhhh buddy, (pauly d voice).

What to Wear to Work - Tuesday

       Yesterday (Monday) I rocked the black and white today I am going for colour in the shirt and the skirt. Trousers, skirts and dressers are also a great way to inject colour into a workwear wardrobe. Here I am rocking a blue and white shirt with contrast cuffs and a Navy blue skirt.  I guess I will call this look bring on the blues.

What to Wear to Work - The Monochrome suit - Navy Blue

   

      The Navy blue blazer is a timeless classic which works with everything. Though it is summer a bright red or orange suit would be gorgeous, but if you are looking for something that is versatile, stylish (not trendy) and timeless look no further than the Navy Blue suit. The Navy suit can take you from the office, to the parent teachers meeting, to your bridesmaid dress fitting, to dinner or drinks with a suitor, to partying it up with your girlfriends like it was 1999. 

     
     Guys do not feel left out the Navy Blue suit looks great on you as well. From the England Football team to Daniel Craig as James Bond; there has NEVER been a man who does not look, stylish and poised (yes poised) in a Navy Blue suit.
