The Red Lippy Project

Rimmel Kate Moss #22, Sleek Stiletto, Rimmel Kate Moss 01 or the classic like MAC Ruby Woo a bit of red lippie is an instant face perk. There is just something about a red lip that gives my face a bit extra oomph. No matter what age or stage of life you are, a red lipstick has a place in your heart.

Now the red lipstick is moving onto even greater things. Along with  Cervical Screening Awareness Week June 8th - 14th. The Red Lippy Project is raising awareness about the importance of cervical screening (yes/really/that) and getting those most at risk to attend screenings by wearing our red lipsticks and sharing the  pictures.

Cervical Cancer Facts
Cervical cancer is the third most common malignancy to affect women, with over half a million cases occurring worldwide each year. It is the most common cancer in women under 35 years of age.

Cervical screening uses a test called Liquid Based Cytology which most people know as the ‘smear test’. A small instrument called a speculum is inserted into the vagina and a sample of cells from the cervix is taken with a small brush. These cells are sent to a laboratory to be tested for abnormalities. This test takes just a few minutes.

Cervical screening reduces the risk of developing cervical cancer.
75% of cervical cancers in women in their 50s and 60s,
60% of cervical cancers in women in their 40s
45% of cervical cancers in women in their 30s.
Since the introduction of cervical screening in the 1980s, rates of cervical cancer have almost halved

The Red Lippy Project is being supported by Topshop who have created a special ‘Red Lippy Lippy’ especially in honour of the campaign.
To support the campaign take a selfie and upload to your favourite social networking sites using the hashtag #redlippyproject and #makeamark to get involved and do your bit. Also check out https://redlippyproject.squarespace.com to find out how else you can get involved.
Most important my lovelies, please get screened.

5 need to know tips about perfume

5 need to know tips about perfume

1. Where to wear
Your pulse points are naturally warmer than any other areas on your body and heat intensifies the scent, so apply perfume to the wrists, neck,  and the inside of elbows. Feel daring? Try spritzing  scents behind your knees, above your hip bones and the small of your back.

2. Settle in
Rubbing your wrists together after spraying your signature perfume will bruise the scent. Instead, spray and let it settle the smell will last longer.

3. Seasonal Scents
Just like you have clothes for different seasons, some scents suit the warmer weather, while others smell like cozy winter night in. Choose citrus, fruity, aquatic and floral scents for Summer and Spring; or oriental, spicy and  woody for Autumn and Winter.

4. Layer by layer
Using the body wash and body lotion  versions of your favorite scent before spritzing your perfume on your pulse points will make the scent last longer on your skin.

5. Makes scents
Store your perfume bottles in a cool, dark place and keep them out of direct sunlight to make sure they retain their lush scent.

BlogMas #8 - Diet

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”  - Virginia Woolf

The foods that get you going and your brain going are all about protein, healthy fats Omega-3s and the kind of key nutrients you can only get from healthy grains, vegetables and “foods for thought.”

BlogMas Day 5 - Decorating

Decorating your home for the Christmas season can get tricky and sometimes expensive. Grab a clear glass vase from your nearest Ikea or ASDA home, craft glue and glitter. Apply the glue around the rim of the vase, sprinkle your choice of glitter onto the glue and leave to dry.

There you go sparkly festive Christmas decor.
