My Christmas Wishlist 2014

Hey, Hey my lovelies long time no blog.
I don't know where the time went, one minute it was summer and now it is time for the magic and sparkle, Christmas carols, parties and late night shopping.
I will be totally spinning the Christmas tunes from tomorrow, and watching the films.I have already had a sneaky watch of Home alone 1 & 2, This Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street, much to my brothers annoyance.

I have had a look in  the shops and these are  the things which I would not mind finding under my tree, on Christmas day.
Now I must warn you this is a quite a lip heavy post. lol

Chanel Chance Perfume

Nars Digital World Lip Pencil Set

Laura Mercier Mini Lip Glace Collection

Nars Tech Fusion Lip Gloss Set

Lord & Berry Library Lip Gloss Set

I've been dipping and dabbling here and there with the new releases on the high street.
I also picked up a  few things  clothes/makeup/books) in the after summer sales. Unlike list year when my Christmas list was quite extensive. This year my list is short and sweet.

The Additions - Eco Tools/ Body Shop

A lunchtime TK MAXX raid yielded these two Eco Tools brushes, which I snatched up. There were a few brush sets available, but I limited myself to these two brushes. I might decide to go back and purchase one of the Eco Tools brush sets at a later date though. I will be sure to keep you posted about this.

The Body Shop had these two lovely 100ml hand creams on  50% off sale. I have been spying  them out from afar for a long time, so I decided  to take the plunge. My sister got me a L'cOcitane Trio for Christmas and it is now absolutely official I need to go on a hand cream ban or something. lol

Hope that you are having a great day my lovelies.

Brow Arch March

                                                     Brow Arch March

"Benefit Cosmetics have been raising brows since 1976. Now each year during the month of March, they will be responsible for shaping millions of eyebrows at over 50 Debenhams Benefit Brow Bars across the UK. The aim, to raise vital funds and awareness for Look Good Feel Better; the only international cancer charity which focuses on problems associated with the visible side effects of cancer treatment.

Brow Arch March is an annual collaboration between Benefit and Debenhams in support of Look Good Feel Better! You can support this great cause by getting your eyebrows waxed and shaped for a suggested donation of £5 - ALL proceeds go to the charity (if you're feeling generous you can also donate the full amount!). You can also participate in the Brow Arch March, which starts in Berkeley Square on 9th March. Visit the Get Involved page for more information. Join us in raising a brow this March!

PLEASE NOTE: Only available in Benefit Cosmetics Brow Bars in UK Debenhams Stores. Offer valid from 1 - 31 March 2014, subject to consultant and appointment availability."

I have already booked my brow appointment for the Saturday 15th March, those of you who can join me in supporting this great cause.

The best of the after Christmas sales

I like a good bargain like anyone, but I am not one for standing outside a store at dawn or facing the madness of Boxing Day shoppers. These are just a few things I managed to find after the frenzy had died down.

My lil stahs of goodies

Kurt Gieger Mabel flats

Laura Mercier Mini Eyeliners

Soap and glory Eyeliners

Laura Mercier Mini glosses

I did not get much but I picked up a few good things.
The Kurt Gieger flats are super comfy,
the Laura Mercier glosses are moisturizing with
great colour payoff plus they are travel sized, lol.
I love coloured eyeliner, that is just my thing.
This year I did not pick up any of the urban decay eyeliner sets,
but these two are more than making up for it.

Have a great day my lovelies.

First NARS purchase - Outlaw Blush

NARS OUTLAW - makes you think of the wild wild west doesn't it lol.

There has been a rustling and an unwrapping over here at Miakhymai HQ, the first NARS purchase has been unveiled into the fold. Behold NARS Outlaw (makes you think of cowboy justice doesn't it) I am so excited that I have this, even though it has been over  a month since I bought it. lol I originally wanted to buy the NARS Geity, but after trying this in Space NK and wearing it around in Nottingham city centre for the better part of an afternoon. I made a cheeky purchase. I love the name - OUTLAW.  I was doubly happy when I bought this since the price was £21.50, for some strange reason I thought the price of the NARS blushes were £27. 50.

NARS OUTLAW - up close, no flash.

It is a mid tone peach with golden shimmer - this is the way I would describe it. Applied to my skin I get a soft colour and hint of a glow, which I like. For my skin tone  (Walnut in the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, NW45 in the MAC Studio Fix, Dark Deep in MAC Mineralise skinfinish Natural) it is soft enough for everyday wear. I would recommend this for girls/ladies/women who would like to wear a nice soft hint of blush.

NARS OUTLAW - up close, with flash.

There are a few more NARS blushes I have my eye on, they will be coming soon to a post near you. NARS Taj Mahal, NARS Exhibit A and you never know I might change my mind on the NARS Geity and snap it up in a purchase if not for myself maybe for one of the sisters or cousins.

Comment and let me know which blushes are your favourites or your hits and misses.

Stay blushing my lovelies.

Style File - Jack Wills Ludford Makeup Bag

For my beauty gals who like to keep an eye on things,  these see through makeup bags are just the item you need to snap up in the Jack Wills sale.  Larger than the Fairhaven makeup bags, the Ludford bags allow you to more space to carry things which you deem makeup bag essentials ie 30ml L'occitane hand cream, inhaler, hand sanitizer etc etc
Jack Wills: our much-loved make-up bag in four bright summer colours,( and the airplane essential) the Ludford is a girl's best friend. It's transparent, making it easy to grab the products you need and the wipe clean design is great for splashes and spillages. Ideal for travelling.

The Skincare Edit - The Budget Friendly Version

The idea for this post struck me today when I was at work. One of the ladies and I were speaking about the summer sales and items we could purchase now to use as gifts for birthdays/Christmas.

It came to me that with all the hype about the Emma Hardie Cleansing balm, the P50 exfoliating toner and the PIXI glow tonic. Where are the options for those who want to try these products but just do not have the money to buy the cult products.

I recently posted my Skincare edit (which is subject to change so there will be updates soon), so I am writing this the Budget friendly version of my skincare edit. This would have been my skincare edit a year ago when I was a student, strapped for pennies.

Makeup Remover - L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

Cleansing Oil  - L'oreal Cleansing oil (please remember this does have in mineral oil)

Cleanser morning - Neutrogena 2 in 1 cleanser & Mask

Cleanser evening - Botanics 97% Organic Hot Cloth cleansing Balm

Exfoliating toner - La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Lotion

Hydrating toner - Botanics 100% Organic Rosewater Toning Spritz

Serum - Avene Soothing Hydrating serum

Sunscreen - Bioderma Photoderm Spot Cream SPF50+ 30ml
or Avene very high protection mineral suncreen spf50+ for very intolerant skin

My current skincare edit is £125 in total. The budget version above total costs equal £85, at the moment a lot of these products are on reduced price offers, so the total would be even less. I recommend when purchasing skincare you buy one item at a time. eg when your cleanser finishes, then purchase a new one,  not before. Do the same in turn with each skincare item. Unless your skin is in a bad way, I would never suggest purchasing an entirely new skincare regime at once.  I love a bargain and the frugal person in me would never let that happen. I will stick to purchasing one at a time as items finish.  I hope that you guys find this post useful.

Comment below and let me know if you have used any of the products above in the past.
Happy Wednesday,
my lovelies.

MAC Studio Fix Powder in NW45

MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation is described as a powder +foundation by the MAC website. At times when I am lazy and cannot commit to applying liquid foundation, I use this product.  I like the effect of foundation, but not the messy fingers. This is a product I would definitely recommend for my ladies with oily skin, or if you just prefer long lasting makeup. I apply this at home before going out and  pop my MAC Blot Powder in my bag to touch up.  This is a powder but it provides heavier coverage than the MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural, it does a great job of evening out my skin and keeping the oils at bay. However I do think that application affects the level of coverage.

When I apply Studio Fix  Powder + Foundation with a sponge, the coverage is very heavy/ mask like (which is very similar to that of the Estee Lauder  Double Wear Light Foundation). This is for when I want everything to be flawless and smooth.  A sponge is included in the compact, and replacement sponges can be purchased at MAC stores/counters.

- Application with a kabuki brush, gives me a lighter coverage, which is still flawless, but not as heavy as with the sponge.
- Application with the MAC 129 gives a light coverage, which I would describe as my skin, just better.

There you go my lovelies,
my roundup of the MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation.

Magazine Freebies June 2013

I love a freebie, the only thing which can make a freebie better is if the item is FULL sized. My lovelies it has been a while since I posted a good magazine freebie post. Not to worry this month newsstands are chock-a-block with magazines offering freebies. These are some great items  to add to your makeup bag or nail polish collection.

Marie Claire is currently offering a Ciate mini nail polish and caviar kit.

Instyle is currently offering a  50ml Neal's Yard Remedies Daily Moisturiser worth £12.00.  According to the Neal's Yard website they've blended "antioxidant-rich acai, bilberry and goji berry with moisturising hyaluronic acid in this lightweight, easily absorbed lotion, for beautifully nourished, radiant, healthy-looking skin."

Elle is currently offering a 58ml tube of Rodial Brazilian Tan freebie in a choice of three shades - clear, dark and light.

Company is offering a free makeup bag, in 3 designs.

Glamour is on a double whammy not only is it on offer at £1 instead of £2 (usual price) they are currently offering a full sized product from Model Co. There are 5 products to choose from, yes FIVE with a combined value of £78!!!!! ----->  two lip glosses, mascara, lipliner and eyeliner.

Cosmopolitan is offering a free paid of sunglasses with 3 styles to choose from

Red Magazine is currently offering  a  15ml Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm

Harper's Bazaar is currently offering a free Leighton Denny Colour & Go Manicure Pen in 6 colours. (yup six colours) I think this is DEFINITELY the freebie of the month. £6 x £11 = £66, 6 x£4.20 = £25.20, that is a SAVING of  £40. 80.

Tatler is also offering a free pair of shades, in 3 colours to choose from

There is nothing wrong with balling on a budget, my lovelies.
